Went out the other day and fished the Truckee after a few of these systems passed. Water quality and clarity was good. Flows around 280cfs but they are up in 330-350 range now. Water temps are getting down into low, low 40's. (39-42 range) A lot of midges out. Picked up a couple in slower/deeper water but not frog water. Mixed it up a little by throwing streamers as well. Let's hope the weather pattern in January continues and we get some precipitation a little on the east side. Can't complain. Lots of reservoirs in NorCal are looking better.

Was out on the Truckee the other day breaking in the new fishing license. Weather warmed up into the 40's from the frigid 20's the week before. Water temps really cold. My readings were around 39 degrees but probably warmed up a degree or two by mid day. Nice to see a little snow on the ground too. Landed a couple of fish in slower moving water. Fish were healthy and good fighters after a brutal summer. River running at a nice 300 CFS. Can't complain. Looks like warming trend over next week.
