Chris built this rod earlier this year. It's a beautiful build with understated silk wraps and N/S cap and ring seat with N/S check. Carboloy stripper and snake brand guides. I found it to cast best with a sunset wf5 line. The two piece spigot ferrule blank was NOS picked up from the manufacturer in about 1981 by a friend. The mid and butt sections have a nice slow progressive action flexing to the grip while the tip is strong. The top 15'' or so has very little flex during casting. Weight is 2oz.
I've had very little time for fishing this year but was able to take it to the American River for summer steelie wet fly fishing. Casting and mending were effortless. Very enjoyable. I think it would be a great dry fly rod. I'd like to keep it but something has to go and I have big plans for my Scott F2 5wt that's in the same weight range. I'll try to post more pictures but it's real pain with my stone axe computer. Email if you want some.
