I fished with these two guys on the Trinity last weekend. Neither had previously caught a steelhead or stepped foot in a drift boat. They had done some fly fishing on the small Sierra streams and wade fished the Trinity last year. We floated two days and they each caught a nice adult and a couple of half pounders. I mostly rowed the boat, tied on flies and told them where to throw the bugs. They worked hard and didn't quit or complain even when it rained and their waders leaked. I did not catch anything myself but it was well worth it to help them both get their first steelhead. Hopefully there are many more in their future.

John, that is pretty cool!

Are they your sons?

At anyrate, it is great to pay it forward to get new folks into the sport!

I know I could land more fish than I do but I like getting the new folks into fish as well.

Take care,
