Pyramid Lake Fishing Report for 11/11/14

Pyramid Lake continues to produce some very nice fish. Many 10 pound fish were caught and released this week along with a 20 pounder released by a friend of mine. A storm is moving through the area with winds creating a nice chop on the water. Shore fishing has really picked up recently. The use of a ladder is not necessary as we teach in our clinics. The lake water levels are down and wading to the drop off is very shallow. The use of ladders has pros and cons. Again, the best fly patterns have been tui chubs in white/olive, original popcorn beetles, black/copper #6 midges (Tiger Midge), and purple buggers. Pyramid is a great place to experiment with different patterns. The "Floater No Cator" technique is still very productive! See the book "Barr Flies" by John Barr page 6 for more info. Almost all beaches have fish on them, pick your favorite.

If you are planning on fishing Pyramid this season and are looking for a nice hotel, give me a call for an outstanding low rate. (775) 722-2267 www.pyramidlakeguideservice.com
