Anybody know if about 1/2" of rain is enough to blow out the Lower Yuba? Want to fish it this weekend and wondering if people think this is enough water to blow it out. Looks like flows have jumped about 130 CFS at Marysville as of right now

I'm down near El Dorado Hills and this hardly seems like a rain event. I would think if anything it will kick up some sediment and things like San Juan Worms with egg attractor etc would be a good combo. I would be surprised if this blew it out. (unless it dumps tnite)

The Marysville gauge reflects a decrease in pumping or ditch diversions between Englebrite and the Feather. The Smartville gauge is steady at 800. The small amount of rain we had won't impact the flows.

I was out on the Yuba in the rain yesterday. Even with some real downpours, the ground was like a sponge and just soaked it in. The rain did not affect river clarity one bit. We'll need a lot more rain before Deer Creek gets flowing.

How did the river fish? Are the trout and steelhead feeding on eggs yet? I know its been on at the lower sac.
Thanks for the update on the river.

Just got off the Yuba this evening again. Clarity is fine, eggs are still productive, but Hogan's S&M nymph in a 16 or 18 was working really well in the last hour of the day. The riffle just barely downstream of the bridge was pretty solid, surprised nobody else was out.

At my house in El Dorado Hills we got 2.25 inches of rain over night. It really dumped from about 10 til 4 in the morning.

I fished the Yuba yesterday and it was definitely a lot higher than it was 2 weeks ago, but still very clear. There's zero color in the water.

The salmon were still on redds and moving upstream, but there were a lot of spent fish in the slack water and a lot of carcasses on the banks. One big buck went airborne about 2 feet to my left and scared the crap out of me.

I fished for 6 straight hours, 8am to 2pm, without a grab. Egg patterns, caddis patterns, S&M nymphs, San Juan worms, streamers,...I kitchen sinked em and got nada. There was a very small hatch early in the am and I didn't see another bug all day.

There were a lot of people out there, never seen the Yuba as busy. Hope others did better than me.

Was out there this last Saturday. Fished till 3 in the after noon , just a little bump.
I think there's been a lot of pressure on the lower yuba. More of a people hatch going on.
