Well, the flow is low but not too low. Very nice for wading.

The water temp up near Fair Oaks is 66 degrees which is good.

Try to get out morning and evening soon.

Being there swinging anything will give you more odds of hooking something than sitting behind the TV or PC.

I think I will be getting out some soon myself.

Any riffle from Sailor Bar down stream all the way to 'Cal Expo/River Park/State College' would b e my choices.

If you fish the Lower American River a lot you will develop your fly fishing skills so some day you can take those skills to the Trinity, Klamath or Rogue Rivers which are all less than a days drive from here.

October is my favorite month...not too hot and not too cold...yet.

If you want o go up to one of those great steelhead rivers soon you can still camp out.

Let me know if you need some help planning a trip.
