George had a machine shop in Lodi, California. Being a bachelor, he was able to pursue his number one passion, fly fishing.
He traveled around the world fly fishing in many exotic places with Joe Shirshac and that bunch of old timers.
I first met George around 1970 on the Lower American River where we were fly fishing for American Shad one spring.
He was fishing with Skip Orr, who was a salesman for Federal Mogul engine bearing company.
He fished the North Coast for salmon and steelhead back in the day. His nickname was "Lodi George".
George had a wonderful life with lots of fantastic days on the water with good friends.
