It absolutely includes new dams.. Two, for starters Sites reservoir to be built off river west of Maxwell and Temperance Flat on the San Joaquin River above Millerton (Friant) Dam also raising Shasta Dam will be finagled in too. All of which will only add about 1% to our water supply which is an absurdly small amount for the huge cost. They have also secreted in the Bill a section for "continuous appropriation" of money from the taxpayers (not the users) to build numerous other water contractor/corporate Ag. wet dream dams.

If prop.1 passes we will lose our andromous fisheries..Period!

There is a sleeping giant in the fishing community who needs to wake up and realize what's at stake with Prop. 1 and the Delta "tunnels" and their Bay-Delta Conservation Plan. If any of this comes to fruition, Salmon, Steelhead, Striped Bass and American Shad will be gone in our lifetime... Is that a legacy we want to leave our prodigy??? How do we wake up all the folks that are the uninformed and unaware?? The question of the year.

The legislation placing Prop 1 on the ballot is a major compromise from the original proposed bond issue. As Mike said, money was included in this proposition for new and additional storage in the form of new dams. The additional storage is in the from of raising some existing dams (e.g. Shasta and other foothill reservoirs, including one project to raise the earth fill San Luis dam.). You can bet that McClintock will dredge up that old saw, Auburn Dam, also.

BTW, this proposal was initially billed as providing funds for Delta restoration activities. Not much left for that now.
