Old Stock - Leader and Tippet Material

Getting my gear ready. I have new in package Climax tapered leaders
and spools of Rio tippet, all not flouro. Old inventory, my question
is how old before it gets tossed and unusable? Thx for input. JM

If its nylon and hasn't been stored in UV or warm temps it will last for quite some time.

I buy mostly FC because it last almost forever.

Then I don't have to worry "How old is it?"

I would get rid of any old nylon tapered lighter leaders or lighter tippets.

Nylon mono (including all the "co-polymers" since all nylon line is a co-polymer) deteriorate because of UV exposure and ozone. My rule is, if I don't know how old it is it's too old. One year is a good guideline though. Fluoro doesn't have these issues.
