Late August and early September right down in the lower reaches near the Pacific ocean are usually big runs of small chrome Steelhead called Half-pounders coming in.
This is like trout fishing and is done mostly early and late in the day.
Lower Klamath River is mostly a jet boats deal.
Lower Rogue River is driven in vehicle, walk and wade situation. Jet boats are popular too.
Most use light weight rods with floating lines and size 8 wet flies.
