Yesterday, I actually had some free time so I was able to go fishing for a few hours at a family friends creek. Lately the creek had been really low to the point that it was mostly unfishable. The creek is fed by the kings river and since the flows have been really good on the kings the past few weeks the creek is now fishable again.

Its such a beautiful place to fish and sometimes its hard to believe that this creek is literally his back yard.

I went all vintage this time and fished my leonard LEF76 paired with a minty beaudex spooled with a wf6. This combo was a joy to fish.

Considering how low the creek had been prior to it filling back up the fishing was surprising good. I had quite a few hookups and landed several nice bass. This one was the best one of the bunch, caught with a size 4 clouser minnow.

Overall had a pleasant day of bassin.

That is a wonderful post.

That is some of my favorite fishing and how I got started years ago.

Thanks......

Thanks guys! That bass certainly was fun on the HL Leonard, it's very full flexing. There's some big fish in that creek, my friend pulled an 11 pounder out of there last summer and released him back so for all I know he's still in there. The great thing about that creek is there is literally no fishing pressure aside from my self and three other friends, it's completely private waters. Next time I go I'm going to bring my 7 wt Leonard LEF86 so I can throw some really big bass bugs...

Should you have the need for someone to test a Steffen 866-3 I would certainly oblige  That is just classic "crick fishing" but with great fish. So cool.
