I have a 3 day hall pass and I'm thinking about getting up to Tuolumne Meadows to fish Lyell and Dana forks and perhaps drop down the other side of Tioga Pass for a day to fish either the Owens or the Walker.
Anyone fished any of that water (presuming there is water) recently. I'm hearing even in the highest high country things are running dry.

I have backpacking permit for Sept 16-17. Would also like to know if water is running and fishing? Fished saddlebag area last week and had fun hiking and fishing for little brookies. 20 lakes is a great hike! All the water around there looked pretty good.

I don't know if this helps but dream flows shows the Tuolumne flowing in to Hetch Hetchy at 45 cfs and 68 degrees.

Lyell Fork and Dana Fork are out IMO because they were really low end of July. I would recommend as well 20 Lakes Basin. A lot of the creeks on the East Side from Hwy 108 down 395 to Mammoth were all in decent shape just a few weeks ago. I'd hit the Bridgeport Area streams if I were you

I was on the Eastern side about a week and a half ago. Crowley from a tube fished the best... it was on fire in the north arm. Fished a couple evenings on the Upper Owens above the bridge... it was ok. Only small guys coming up for dries, but got a couple nice ones nymphing the deeper holes and runs. Also fished the Little Lakes Valley out of the Mosquito Flat trailhead on Rock Creek Rd. Got lots of little brookies and rainbows on ant patterns and the scenery was incredible. Word was that the East Walker was warm, low, and weed choked. The Troutfitter in mammoth has a pretty good Eastern Sierra's fish report online (http://www.thetroutfly.com/fishreport.html) as does the Sierra Drifters guide service (http://sierradrifters.com/)
