I have to say I've no idea what these are. What do you mean by freshwater rod? One piece? Are they meant to go on the rod while You fish it?

You don't use these when fishing your vintage Powells, Rich? :confused:

Seriously, they are protectors that stretch and slide over the rods. They're in bright colors so they can easily be seen on a boat. They don't offer any real protection from breakage, just more of a reminder the rod is there.

Thank you. I got it now. I'm strictly fly fishing (non boat owner) so I'm not familiar. I appreciate the info. Perhaps I need to look into the vintage Powell applicability?
