EC Powell Steelhead.
Sold
9' Walton Powell early Hexagraph custom build. This rod was obviously a custom build for some big fish. Early dark unpainted Hexagraph blank with white Walton Powell decal...most likely built during his time in Quincy, CA. The rod is a 9' 2 piece 1 tip with a small fixed fighting butt, custom fore grip, and black anodized double nut up-locking Powell seat, and some big oversized strip and snake guides. Aside from a few small marks on the reel seat the rod appears un-fished - probably had a reel mounted and that's as far as it went. This is a big water rod and would be great in the salt as well. Walt probably built it for a guy who wanted an 8-9wt or 9-10wt for Bass or salt water. The rod came to me from a fly shop in southern California. Original bag and tube. Tube label is peeling away a little.
Asking $200
