This is the first fly I've tied that I'm somewhat happy with since I had hand surgery a couple months back.

Still rehabbing bit getting closer and closer to the quality of fly I used to tie...

That fly will work at...I don't know....about EVERY river and stream in California.

Nice tie. I'd eat it.

Thanks guys. I've had great takes on this fly as well as the same pattern but tied in olive green.

I'd love to see some of your guys soft hackle flies, if you don't mind post them up.

Good tie, and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Not sure why, but I've never had much luck with wire bodied soft hackle. If you are looking for other patterns, take a look at Allen McGee's "Tying & Fishing Soft-Hackled Nymphs".

Thanks JD and Mr. Kiene.

That is strange about the wire body. I've always had good success with wire bodied softie hackles. Thats what's so great about soft hackles there are literally thousands of variations within the singular theme that is the soft hackle.

Now that's my kind of therapy! If they look that good during your recovery, you must have tied some hall-of-famers before the surgery.

J.E.M.,
Nice job! I'm intrigued by the Tenkara reverse soft hackle flies. Going to try some in a couple of weeks on the
Fishigan trout streams. Not into the Tenkara mood yet; but those flies look deadly.
Best and hope the hand continues to mend well.
