Spent my second Sunday in two weeks skunked in the surf. Last Sunday it was Stinson with the incoming tide in the morning. Might have had something on for a few seconds over several hours. Today it Was Limantour with the tide going out and turing around to about halfway to high tide. Nada.

I think I'm not getting as deep as I can wading later in the season. Or maybe there are just no perch now? The Ospreys didn't seem to have any more luck than me today -- 'course they probably have a secret spot they aren't sharing.

No complaints, though -- lovely mornings each.

Thank you for the post. The heat inland has me looking toward the coast as well. I seldom catch anything there but I love the area so much I don't mind either.

I have heard that the bite is happening down near Pacifica.

Spent another fun morning in the surf at Stinson on Sunday. Caught half a dozen or so small perch: barred and a silver kind. Met a couple of serious-looking nice guys on their way out who'd gotten skunked looking for stripers.

It was fun just clowning in the surf, staring down the sea lions, and experimenting with different kinds of casts and retrieves until it got crowded. So I packed up and had a Polish dog from the joint next to the park -- that put the stamp of summer on a visit to the beach -- and drove home. Reassuring to catch a perch or two. Still don't feel like I have it dialed in at all.
