On the 4th of July weekend for a wedding at Fall River. The last time I was there was around 30 years ago
I use to spend 3 weeks in June fishing all the waters in the area. Don't plan on doing any fishing just shooting video of the river and trying to capture rises and slurps. I think the lodge might have a couple boats that I can rent, instead of me hauling my pram up there.
One question, how are the mosquito's in the evening

Thanks

I've always wanted to fish that area but, so far, it's not made it to the top of the bucket list. I'm envious of your trip. That said, I wouldn't go anywhere in the Cascades/Siskiyou's/east side of the Sierra's at this time of year without some bug juice. Fall River looks to be right in the middle of a wet meadowy area. Sure fire Mosquito breeder. ;)

Hope you have a good trip.

Might want to bring your rod. We did a study there this spring with DFW and there are some steelhead-sized trout in there!

Darian,
I'm bringing the Bushman from Australia. Most critters stay away, even those yellow flies that were hanging around Turneffe Flats Lodge.

I don't have any trout gear around the house or even in my arsenal. Heck, I don't even have a 2014 fishing license, yet. Just going to relax and shoot some video footage

I was there in the beginning of June. Windy in the mid-afternoon and early evening at that time may be better now. Real calm in the early morning. Bugs were not to much of a problem. A little squirt of bug juice on the hat and on my shirt and I was fine. I did wear long pants and long sleeve shirt though.

A friend was there last week. He mentioned that water was so low that prams were not being rented out. Guide he was with had to navigate impressively through the channels.
Second hand info so Im not sure!
