Morning All,

I'm on a search for an 8 weight reel. I'm looking for something second hand with a fairly sound drag. Do you guys think that there is anything out there that someone may be open to part with for a fair price? Or, any suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks.

I've got a Bauer MSL 3 with an 8wt full sink line on it. It's yours for $250 shipped. I also have a gold Ross Rhythm 3 with no line - has previous owners name engraved - only a problem if you care what it looks like. I'll let it go for $115 shipped.

I have a black Ross Big Game (BG) 4 for sale, in excellent condition, with factory neoprene case, for $170. Made in the US, reliable and well-built with a smooth drag, one of the best spool removable systems out there - it's exactly the reel you describe.

If you really have a tight budget, I have a clear (silver) Redington CD 9/10, nearly perfect condition, with factory case for $70. Heck, you can't even buy a new good saltwater line for $70! The "CD" stands for cork drag. This reel is machined and has ceramic coated bearings for smoothness and corrosion resistance. Though the model says 9/10, it's really more of an 8. It got it as part of a rod/reel kit. Smokin' deal.

Another to consider...For $150, you can buy my Elkhorn T-3 and an extra spool, both unused.
