Ive got a new fish graphic Ive engraved on a couple wood flyboxes. I'm really excited about these! The wood and the engraving are just beautiful!

All my art work is hand engraved with a wood burning tool. The fly boxes I have hand made from solid hardwoods
This box is 4x6" and made from very high grade Spalted Maple $90

I always bookmatch end grains

I got a very small quantity of some gorgeous south American Canary Wood. it has a wild golden glow with accents of pink and yellow in the grain. 4x6" box $90

You're getting pretty darn good with that wood burning tool, Jay.

Thanks Doug :) It is an endless journey. With all the different woods I use, I am learning some wood grains are much more art friendly than others. I wont even offer engraving on oak any more. The grain has huge contrasts in hard and soft spots, which causes bad "hot spots" with the tool. The engraving is becoming one of my favorite parts of the process ;)

Nice. I like how, with one of the smallmouth, you incorporated the grain of the wood as the bottom contour.
