After having a little place on the central east coast of Florida for 10 years I can tell you that it is overlooked by many traveling fly fishers.

You still need to go there with a plan that included a good location, the right timing, a recommended guide, etc.

I fished lots of exotic salt water destinations over the past 30 years and am amazed that Florida can still have great fishing too.

Most go with the wife in the winter and fish a day or two which is not normally going to be that good.

Also little houses in FL are cheap as long as they are not on a world famous barrier island. $50,000 can get you a fishing shack a few mile from the water. Tons of used skiff for sale too. If you live where it snows all winter you would go crazy in FL in the winter. Its short and flip flops almost all the time.

We fish the fresh water all winter, mostly for LMB.

Spring, summer and fall is best for the tropical salt water fish.

How are the bugs? Always wonder about the screened in outdoor areas you see on homes for sale.
