Spent several days last week with friends on the Upper Rogue. I think we found ourselves at the start of a push of fish coming up. The fishing improved each day. By the time we left on Sunday we were hooking pretty good numbers of fish daily. All my buddies landed several fish during the trip I however landed a couple of half pounders but I had several chances at 30"+ fish and didn't land one of them (long story). All in all a great couple of days.

There will be a few pics and more details on my site soon for anyone interested

Chris,

Was up there about 10 days ago, we fished from Shady Cove down. We fished hard but only managed one half-pounder, there were a few fish around and the guide worked hard but the fish would not cooperate.

I think the big long Steelhead rivers like the Klamath and Rogue can have fish almost any time because they always have flow.

That goes for many of our valley rivers too.

Most of the short rivers have no water part of the year.

Heard there was some dry fly fishing with insect hatches on the Upper Trinity River now.

Congratulations......

Mitch, things started slow for us too but steadily improved over a couple of days. Most of our fish came on large Stonefly patterns. There were times when the fish definitely went on a bug bite. One of the largest fish landed came on #18 Mayfly pattern.

Some pics are up on my site now.

Chris,

How have you been? Still making it up this way? The Lower Sac was fishing very well a month or so ago.
