I had a Sage Method 890-4 and 990-4 blanks made up for the salt. Lined them with Rio Bonefish Quickshooter lines. After a week in the Yucatan, I feel they are the best rods for windy fishing I have ever cast. 4 of my fishing buddies cast them and loved them. The 2 best casters ( they live in the Florida Keys during winter and fish the flats a lot) felt they were the best saltwater rods in these weights they have ever fished. Over Loomis NRX, XI3, and the new Hardy ProAxis. (Although the 10 wt Hardy was sweet).
This demonstrates the impact new lines can have on a rod's performance (read Yellowstone Angler 8 wt shoot out and using standard bonefish taper). The SA Bruce Chard will be terrific as well on these rods. And these rods are accurate, even with these head type lines.
My T&T Horizon II rods are now my backups lined with the standard bonefish tapers. In low wind, I still enjoy them, even though the Methods are incredibly light.
In rods over 7 wt, Line selection is as important for SH rods as we know it is for 2 hand.
