Because it is. That's the best way for these U-shaped toons to move, and you can troll that way too. Steering with your fins is super easy, and if you want to move there's plenty of room to turn around and look backwards.

10-4 Thanks for the info. On my pontoon the darn thing wants to drift (inches of draft) all over the water causing me to constantly be on the tiller making adjustments.

This tracks beautifully with the U shape as a bow. I can go for a whole day without touching the tiller. I did try it going forward and that's not an option. Like a conventional 2 tube 'toon it doesn't track, and it pushes water on to the seat. It drains but it's not comfortable.
