Looking for a solid, lightweight (3wt) reel.
Don't want aluminum.
Budget is ~$100.

Also, need a mid-seventies modified barrel
for a 12g Ithaca 37.

I have a few reels in that size that may work,
When you say you don't want aluminum are you looking for a resin reel? Or an older style reel like a Pflueger?

I have a new in the box, White River/Bass Pro Shop classic reel - unfortunately it is black aluminum machined aluminum - $75.

have a good one,

I would look at the new Redington Drift #3/4 fly reel for $99.95.

It is fully machined from 6061-T6 alloy so it is as strong as any other new quality fly reels.

We have fly reels that are made of synthetic materials but aluminum alloy is what 90% of the reels are made of today.

People don't like cast alloy reels because they can break easier than machined alloy reels.

New cast reels are way better than the old one with new materials and new casting processes.

It come in black or clear alloy.

It has a click-n-pawl drag with a rim drag so it will be good for a light trout rod.
