View Full Version : Can't wait for the Basin streams to open!

March is a time when I start getting excited about the rivers in the Klamath Basin. They are my home rivers and their opening meant the long winter was over for us Chiloquin folk. So when the Williamson, Wood, and Sprague rivers open it always stirs my soul. Winter Steelheading is still good but once the first springer shows up I'm gone. The change to smaller flies and matching the hatch is creeping into the back of my mind, once the end of April hits it will be totally consumed by the thought of Giant Redbands.

How about you guys? Is there a fly fishing ritual that consumes you?
