---This is the first of its kind! I purchased this 4x6" aluminum, wheatley style flybox. I routed out some beautiful tiger maple and inserted the box perfectly into it. The result speaks for itself in the photos! The box fully functions as the aluminum box inside (hinges and friction closure) but is covered in excellent wood :)

Because the wood adds thickness to the box, I had to chamfer the wood on the hinge side to get the box to open past 90 degrees. It doesnt open completely flat, but pretty darn close and plenty for full access to the contents. This first photo shows the box fully opened.

This one is a 4X6" Tiger Maple with a custom, hand engraved brook trout rising to a mayfly.
