Had the pleasure of fishing and hanging out with Andy in the Delta yesterday. We were targeting stripers and had a so-so day.
Andy has so much steelhead mojo that he still hooks one against incredible odds. He made a cast to the ‘wrong’ side of the boat, made a couple of strips, and hooked what we thought was a nice salmon.
Got the fish to the surface, close to the boat and we quickly realized that it was a nice bright steelhead in the 10+ lb range.

Got it to the surface and the clouser popped off. Headed back down and swam away:

Pretty stoked to see a nice adult steelhead up close. And in the Delta no less. Pretty wild.
Would have been nice to land it but that’s how it goes sometimes I guess.

Oh, and we caught some stripers too. Andy caught the biggest fish and the most fish. I gotta get one of those lucky hats :D

I hooked one about a week ago on the SJ. That's funny, I have a couple hats that I must have on at certain spots, MUST :)

next thing we will hear is the andy will catch a SH out of a local bass pond. He just can't keep
