Buckeye Burl! I have a love hate relationship with this stuff. I rarely buy a piece that amounts to more than beautiful firewood :( But I keep buying it. Cause every once in a while, I get a great piece that I can make incredible fly boxes with.
Well, here we go! I got some :)

These Buckeye Burl fly boxes are as good as Ive ever seen! No, these photos are not photo shopped! WYSIWYG!
The Fly boxes have my custom rippled cork inserts. Very durable and beautiful accent to these boxes.

What Ive got is three 3x5" trout sized fly boxes and a matching knife (Knife specs at bottom of page)

These Fly Boxes will sell individually for $80ea. And the knife, made from the same gorgeous wood is $70. I am offering this entire set for $240. That figures out to a FREE KNIFE!

It's darn hard to cut and mill that wood without chipping and splitting. You've done a fantastic job on all those Jay.

Thanks guys! This lot of wood is just stunning. It even has some "fiddleback" curl in the grain. I'm getting some offers to buy individual boxes but I want to keep the Buckeye Burl package up a few more days before I break it up. This would make such a neat trout fly collection for a collector. Three boxes could accommodate dries, nymphs and wets. And the knife is just a bonus. I want to debunk any notions that wood boxes are heavy. These buckeye burl boxes average 3 oz. All three of them are 9.33 oz. My method for finishing these boxes feels like glass in your hand :)
