Best to all and keep the rain coming,

You'd think, as bad as things are, they'd let the lake fill up a bit first. They already lowered the flows, they've been low enough for long enough for the damage to be done in the lower river, they're going to close the river anyhow, why not fill up the lake first? If this turns out to be the only good storm we get this winter, these guys are going to look like complete morons for letting that water out.

These flows are necessary to prevent Natoma from flooding on to HWY 50....

The flows into FOLSOM are at 25,000 and only 50-70 CFS is coming out.

Natoma has a much smaller capacity and the runoff into Lake Natoma has to be equalized by the outflow in to Nimbis Basin.

After the storm, flows will go back to 500 CFS or close to that and Folsom will likely be 1/2 full instead of the 20% it is at currently.

You could figure all of this out if you spent more time on the water and/or knew how to use the CDEC site.

That said... DWR still has a knack for "looking like morons"... ~:)

So this is the data you are referring in your reply? What does "af" describe?

And once the in flows drop to 500 cfs then the out flow will drop as well back to 500 cfs?

Of course no helpful post would be complete without the requisite, self aggrandizing snarky comment.
