Maple wood, steelhead fly box

This is a 4x6" box made with high grade, strong and stable spalted maple.

I have hand engraved a steelhead on this box incorporating the natural spalting lines in the wood. It struck me to have the appearance of rushing water. Ive always loved images of steelhead being held half submerged like this.

This qualifies in my opinion, as one of the top 5 boxes Ive ever made. The wood is flawless and the art came out quite nice!
