Do I need to fill out my steelhead card before fishing within a few miles of the highway 20 bridge on the Yuba? How about at the Posse Grounds on the Lower Sac? Does it matter whether I'm "fishing for trout" instead of steelhead? If so, what defines that -- catching a steelhead!?

I'd welcome reference to someplace in the regs that explains this clearly -- I spent some time today digging through the booklets with no luck.

Any river system that is listed on the the steelhead card must be filled out date and river code before stepping into the water. Any anadromous river.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Can you point me to the regs that explain this rule? Do people fishing for stripers on the Sac have to fill out a steelhead card?

We went through this before concerning Shad...You do not need a Steelhead Report Card to fish for Shad. When fishing the same body of water for Trout you better cover you bases by filling out the SRC.....
