Andy Guibord hooked 3 adult Steelhead today on the "A".

Andy just called me to report hooking 3 adult Steelhead today swinging wet flies on his Spey rod.

He said that two were around 4-5 pounds and one was around 8 pounds.

He fished at Goethe Park/River Bend Park and at Watt Avenue.

Our conclusion (educated guess) is with the low water some some fish could be holding in every riffle from the Nimbus Dam all the way down stream to River Park/Cal-Expo.

Hooked em and landed?

Lost one of the smaller ones right away and landed the rest I believe.

He fish 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours later in the day.

In the past 3 weeks Andy has hooked 6 adult Steelhead from 4 to 12 pounds swinging wet flies with a slow sinking sink tip and a rabbit/ marabou leech type fly.

All have been around goethe and Watt so maybe some need to fish down river.

We feel the newer/grabbier fish might be holding down river below Sunrise area?

Fish are spawning in the lower river. The abundance of gravel exposed makes for excellent redds.

Maybe this year the river should be closed from h street up?
