Congrats! I was considering getting one of the ones we posted above for myself too! Did you get either of them or a different one?

Any pics of your new boat?

Best,

Best,
Got the one listed on Redding Craigslist. Drove to Yreka from Granite Bay, 310 miles each way, but the pram looks good. Willl probably get it wet tomorrow.

If you have not had an 8 foot pram you need to try one................they are so cool for one person.

I have 5 boats right now and have had several prams but don't have one now.

At one time we all had an 8 foot pram......lots of memories.

I might buy another one.

HI Bill,

I am interested in the Lowe jon 1032. I want to car top it on my Rav 4 v6 with Yakima grabber racks that attach to the mfg. side rails. The load capacity of the roof is 105 lbs. The boat weighs 80#. It's beam is 48", and its bottom width is 32" I would drive it with a min kota 50lb thrust motor.

My feeling is I am not standing in this boat to cast and fish any time soon because the bottom is not wide enough. True?

I think you need 36" of bottom width minimum.

8' Valco prams were 44".

Klamath "Jac" Jon boats start at 8'7" and are 38" wide at the bottom.

I love my 8' Valco, totally stabil. I can't believe I almost sold it on this board on a whim cause I had not used it for so long. Restored it last year and will probably keep it forever. Thats how much I like it.

I have a '70's TPL pram. It's really light to handle. When I go to the Forebay, I back the truck to the waters edge and push the pram right into the water. It' weighs around 70lbs, it use to weigh 65 pounds. I usually refiner glass the bottom every couple years. The bottom has a lot of wear from pulling it out of the water with the truck.
Although my wife would love to see it out of the garage, I'd never get rid of it. I use to have 5 TPL prams, almost one for everyday of the week :-)
