Andy Guibord has hooked 3 adult Steelhead in the Lowe American River......

..................in the past week or so.

He was giving a lesson on Spey fishing yesterday and was demonstrating how to cast and swing the fly and guess what?

He caught this lovely one.

He was using a Sage ONE 12'6" #6 Spey rod with a Rio Skagit Max floating head, Rio iMOW 10' Intermediate tip, 6 feet Rio FC 0x tippet, and it looks like a black marabou leech.

Andy has been working at the new location from Thurs through Sunday.

We had the late Dave Simons teach a steelhead class for some of Kiene's clients on the Lower Feather River. Someone reported back to me that Dave hooked a steelhead on the first cast while demonstrating how to do it. I guess that gets their attention?

Bill sometimes timing is everything. I was lucky enough to have done it a few times in my old surf clinics. You can bet the students got real focused real quick!

As you well know Andy is constantly working to fine tune his craft. I admire his dedication. I shake my head with a big ol' grin when I think of his successes. That boy can fish!!!
