Hi guys! I have something really unique available that is just so beautiful. This would make a great Christmas gift for someone special, or a very nice addition to your personal collection.
This is a 3x5" Buckeye burl fly box and matching folding pocket knife. Both made from the same piece of magnificent, fully stabilized Buckeye Burl! The knife blade is a drop point design in smoke grey steel with a blade length of 2 3/4" and an overall length of 6 1/2".
These two items will not be sold seperately as I made them as a set.

Buying buckeye burl online is a huge gamble. Its impossible to know how much usable wood youre gonna get. And its expensive. Buckeye burl is notorious for having a very low percentage of usable wood due to voids, pits and pockets. I was really hoping to get 2 boxes from this particular piece but it wasnt looking good. In the end I got a second box that I had to fashion with my pocket box templates. so this one has the elongated octagon design and is a a bit less than 3x5". This is super unique because Ive never made one like it and may never again. The grain on this thing is just crazy! Again, fully stabilized.
