Ive had this spectacular chunck of fiddleback buckeye burl just begging to be made into fly boxes. I finally got around to it last week and these things are just... WOW! See for yourself!
If you are unfamiliar with my fly boxes, they have custom, hand made, rippled cork inserts. Very durable, functional and classy'

This one is from a magnificent exotic, south American wood called Marblewood. VERY hard, strong wood. It's the closest thing to bamboo Ive worked with (besides bamboo). but its harder and a bit heavier and the wild marbled lines make it look like spalted bamboo! Look how cool the book matched ends look! this thing finished so smooth it feels like a bowling ball :)

OK. Heres one that was a casualty of the machining process. it has two blemishes INSIDE the box that do not effect the function of the box and are not visible from the outside. This beauty is a 4x6" South American Marblewood. Hard to describe how beautiful this wood is without holding it in your hand!
Regular price $90. Now $50!!
