Getting around to finally posting this summer's activities. My daughter and I did a father daughter backpacking trip to desolation wilderness. Of course this had to involve some fly fishing as well and she is a game fisherwoman. This trip she fished without my help and found some willing participants. The spot is beautiful and the fishing was great. Finally figured out that all that the fish are rising to midges and not the other furry bugs that I have been throwing at them and also realized that in fact the hopping things all around do represent fish food. Hoppers and midges were the flies du jour.
