It is official, the fall fly fishing season has arrived in Truckee area.

Some random thoughts to contemplate if venturing to the Truckee area:

1---gloves
2---light-weight wind/rain jacket
3---fish the most comfortable part of the day
4---use your thermometer!
5---small/large flies...wispy tippets on top/stout tippets while swinging
6---in the flat light use foam; whether tight-lining sans bulky indicators or "head-hunting" to sippers
7---amber or copper lenses
8---bring your "A" game if on technical water...otherwise forgetaboutit!

1---cold mornings in the high 20's
2---dress warm; use layers and peel-off as necessary
3---consistent risers have been sporadic
4---emerging bugs are small...although a rarer, adult October Caddis sighted
5---because of cooler water temps, trout are not moving a lot so tighten your spacing while "fan-
casting" when "fishing the water"
6---"stick & move" looking for the opportunistic feeder
7---sub-surface fishing; whether swinging/stripping streamers or probing the bottom "low & slow" most
productive methods...exception if you come upon a pod of surface feeders
