Salmon flies

I've been going out in my kayak trying to catch a salmon. What type of flies should I be tossing at these fish. I am casting and retrieving, not standing and swinging. I see the conventional guys using big Mepp's and quickfish. What should I be using? I was throwing a small clouser but only caught stripers which I expected. But what type of fly and color might increase my luck with hooking into a salmon?

Big chartrues clouser/deceiver pattern. Strip em like stripers in the deep holes.
