Yesterday when we were launching at Yuba City on the Feather River we ran into a large group of fisheries people who had put in their canoes and kayaks at Daguerri Dam and floated down stream to the mouth of the Yuba river where it goes in the Feahter River.
They said they were a mixed group who was working on the that lower Yuba River fisheries.
I think it was a couple dozen people from maybe 6 different agencies.
Nice folks.....
We chatted with some of them as we were getting ready to launch my jet boat.
They said they saw some stripers and salmon during their trip.
They said that they have counted over 3,000 salmon go over the Daguerri Dam already this year.
Not too many people fish that lower stretch below Daguerri Dam except during the Shad run on years with a descent flow.
