Fly fishing Pioneers & Legends of the Northwest is more than steelhead fishing but interesting. Another book that I enjoyed is Steelhead Fly Fishing Nez Perce Country by Dan Landeen great book if you are at all interested in fishing the Snake, Clearwater or Grande Ronde.

Be sure to watch the video "Rivers of a Lost Coast"......

Our steelhead and salmon fisheries, rivers large and small, were lost over the last 100 years by dams, logging, developement and AG.

They are finally removing some dams now so that is positive.....

Steelhead Fly Fishing, by Trey Combs. The book is full of history and steelhead obsession. The chapter on the Rogue alone, is worth its weight in gold. Ever heard of Zane Grey and his expedition down the Rogue in 1925? Grey wrote a book about the adventure called Tales of Fresh Water Fishing in 1928 when steelhead fly fishing was in its infancy.
