Captain Jerry Neuberger is hosting a trip to the Santa Cruz pier for a few days of Kelp Bass fly fishing.

August 29-30, 2013, Thurs/Friday

Jerry said that some will stay in motels and others will camp up at Felton at Henry Cowell State Park.

I think they will rent skiff that are available right on the Santa Cruz pier.

Skiffs are also availabe at the Capitola Pier.

Sounds like a great outting....

I heard that September is good too.

Hey Bill

Your right! Growing up in Santa Cruz, we used to have our little skiffs to go out to the kelp beds. We would catch some calico bass, little popeye's, and those very pretty sea trout ( I think we called them senorita fish ). But yes September can be real good. That's when it can be glassy all day, and not much swell. Have fun!!
