Hi all,

We quickly produce a report each year after tagging striped bass for the population study. The report is intended only to let folks know what we did and saw, so doesn't include anything (e.g., harvest rate, abundance, and survival rate) that we get from the data. However, we usually include some minor comparisons to what we saw the preceding year. We just finished the report for 2013 and it's here:

The gear (traps) are selective for fish upwards of 16 inches and we fish the gear where the little fish tend not to be. For the report this year, we decided to throw in several years of prior length-frequency plots because it's been quite a while since we showed a time-series of lengths. The time series shows recruitment (to the gear and fishery) and progression of what's likely a relatively strong 2008 year class. According to the Fall Midwater Trawl Survey, 2006 was far-and-away the strongest year class since 2000 (though miniscule compared to the pre-POD era), followed by the 2008 year class and the not-yet-recruited 2011 year class.

Thanks
