Time to talk fish.....
The food available for fish right now, makes our job harder.
Lots of choices....
PMDs are about the favorite. Nymphs, emergers, adults, and spent....
The pupile or larval form of free ranging green Caddis are popular.
There are also speckled and cream, and micro Caddis out now.
A Green Drake will get a look, if you can time it right.
The ubiquitous midge of course.
Crane flies are about.
Hoppers are a-flyin'.
Golden stones.
Crays.
A streamer could be good....and night fishing is legal here..Got Game? Walter don't hunt mid-day....
Last night's hatch was very nice.
These guys are getting good. If you try to stand, and bring them back to you, they'll get off. Run with them.
Flows are up and warming, and slightly off color. (62-65, with Lake Tahoe surface release).
Lower in the canyon is a little cooler.
Easy to access spots are getting hammered, walk some....
The raft hatch is a headache!
Several rafts eddied out in a pool we were about fish....
The last to arrive, put on a show buy swamping in front of us. Oh Joy......
River slows noticeably mid-day.
Early and late are the best shifts, but you can make them eat if you work hard, and smart.

Let's give each other some space to fish.
If someone is on a hole, walk on......simple etiquette.
Don't be rude. Up here, we fish for quiet, not company.
There is plenty of water......
Great time to fish, clouds/rain/misty the next few days....
Fair-weather fishermen miss out....
Clarity will drop with the rain run off from last night, and today.
Fisherman advantage.
Gonna be hot next week.
Hope you're getting out.

In the shade it is quite nice.......
But the sun will get you.
Hat, shades, sunscreen, and a big hat.....
Warm flows up-stream from town, but cooler in the canyon.
Bugs are nowhere...during mid-day.
Cooool at dawn, still 60 deg. H2O this morn in the canyon.
Get your game on early.....
By 10:00 it is time for the next activity.
Small window in the PM, say 8:00 until dark.
Later than that if you can fish in the dark. Bring a light.
Golden stones.
Crays.
Caddis. All different sizes/colors.
Little Yellow Sallies are out too.
And some Flavs................
Did I mention Grass Hoppers?
Be the ball.

Bonus Post....
Just when we could use the temperature moderating effect from the Little T fishery.....
They...... dropped the flows from 200cfs, to a CRIMINAL level of 40 cfs in one day! (I won't fish there under 85 cfs.)
This is BS. Pretty hard on the fishery, to suddenly be high and dry.
Not complaining......(Stating the facts), just letting you know before you drive out there.
Of course, I'm sure you would check the USGS flow report beforehand anyway........
