Lower Sac Slows Down

The river has slowed in the past couple of weeks. The water level is fluctuating and the weather has not setlled into a summer pattern. The caddis have not started popping in any real numbers. There is a good PMD hatch around noon and again around 6pm. Most of our fish came on PMD patterns. Spent another day with Redding local Nick and spent a couple of days with friends. If you are willing to find a good riffle and stay there until dark you will be rewarded. We were hooking around 20 fish between 6pm and 9pm. Fishing will improve in the weeks to come.
