I have an early production 3 screw model that I am selling. It is in excellent working condition with a very strong adjustable check. It has had a new Hardy handle installed on the opposite side of the spool which works perfectly.
The Hardy St John is a very versatile reel best suited for larger trout or steelhead and will balance well on switch rods, small spey rods and 6-9 weight single hand rods.
