Just got this email report from my old fishing buddy Tom Moore.

The answer to the shirt is "no", but what a nice bass!

Anyone know if 110 CFS is too high to fish the river at the path below Lake Clementine? I've had some nice trips there in late summer / early fall for smallmouth and even a few trout, and was thinking of taking my 10-yr old and 7-yr old there this weekend. Or maybe even Upper Lake Clementine in order to do some swimming as well in the 100-degree heat that is forecasted. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm trying to find a good spot for the kids to explore and catch a few fish.

I ended up fishing the N. Fork right below Lake Clementine Sunday evening from about 5:00 - 7:00 after fishing the Truckee from 9:30 - 1:30. What a great contrast. I wet waded in the N. Fork and the water was spa-like. After trying a variety of flies and wading upstream from the main hole where the trail ends, and catching nothing, I suddenly pulled in a 13" smallmouth and 12" rainbow on a muddler. I have no idea how that rainbow was surviving in those temperatures. It must have been the high oxygen content in the white water. The water was a little high -- would have been better at 80% to 90% of the actual flows.
