Well I had a couple of open days so I decided it was time for me to do some fishing for a change. I picked up my good friend Barry (who as luck would have it is an up and coming oarsman) and we hit the river. We did a short float Thursday night from Posse to Bonny. We finished the evening with several fish all over 16". The PMD's were strong Thursday afternoon/evening.
Friday we spent the day between Bonney and Anderson. The morning was a little slow for us but the afternoon and evening was VERY GOOD ! The Caddis and PMD's were pretty strong from midday on. There is still one spot on the river that I see alot of adult Stones flying around midday.
Saturday we repeated the same float. The morning started off much better than the day before. The fishing was a little fished a little more consistently all day. Some spots that fished well the day before we couldn't find a fish on Saturday. It was a bit hazy / cloudy on Saturday and for what ever reason the bugs didn't happen like the day before.
Basically the riffles fished better for us than the flats. It was pretty much PMD's and Caddis patterns. These are my favorite flows to fish this river.
Hey Barry thanks for all the rowing and giving me some much needed fishing time ! It was great !!
Here are a couple of pics of some typical fish.
I have one more open day until mid June, Friday 5/24 is still open if anyone wants to fish the Sac.
