Today, Monday was another good day for roosters. Started off with calm water, warm weather and hopes of some big roosters
Bait was a little tougher to get today because the Canelo brothers had to provide for 6 more boats than yesterday, mucho dinero for them.
After getting some bait to start us off, we ( steve, joan, efren and I ) headed to the light house for some pez gallo action. It took a while to wake them up but finally started seeing some big toilet bowl swirls... It was long before Steve hooked into rooster #2 for this trip. It made a loooong run and never had any thoughts about giving up. I shot a lot of video fighting this fish. After a while, can't remember how long, the backing started piling up on the reel spool. I would have to say it was a good 150 yds of backing off the reel, plus the fly line. FINALLY, steve got the rooster to the boat, took some photo's and weighed it on a certified boga grip 30lbs. What a fish !!!!
Then rooster number 2 was caught down at the Ranchito area, same area all the roosters have been for the last two weeks.
Time to quit and go to bed, I'll tell more story probably on the weekend. But take a look at the photo's
