What a difference a day makes, yesterday windy, big swells and some roosters. This morning no wind, hot weather and roosters crowing all over the place. Steve and Joan are here for the start of their three weeks. The bait was at the south end of the island so no long runs. We got back and then Efren said that we are heading to the light house. The day before there were a lot of roosters and jacks, according to jonny.
When we got there, it took a few minutes to wake up the fish but once it happened it happened. That whole bay is loaded with roosters and a number or BIG roosters, we estimated up to 50lbs. When they fed, it looked like a toilet bowl flushing. The good thing about it, no other boats. Gary Bulla has three boats this week and they stayed around the island and some when skippie fishing. Out of all the roosters that were there, we (steve) hooked one. Joan had the big "0" today. But that will change tomorrow.
Midmorning we had to get more bait then we headed back to the lighthouse joined by the Bulla fleet. I think only one other rooster was hooked, not sure. Around 11am, we headed to Ranchito's to look for the roosters, we found them in numbers but not as big as what was along the beach. Once again they were tough to hook. A good presentation, fast cast, fast retrieve should provide you with some excitement.
OH before I forget, all of you who are coming down on my trips better pack your license with you. And for those of you who all ready have a license, you better make sure it's not expired. We were checked by the Marines today

I'm working on the photo of my fish that I caught on Friday.
